SHOULD WE ACCEPT OURSELVES?
The Functional Perfectionist questions: So, should we accept ourselves? I’d argue that a better word is acknowledge. We need to acknowledge who we currently are—the good, the bad and the ugly—while actively working to improve ourselves, rather than simply accepting who we are. Continuous acceptance without real change becomes a form of copping out. Accepting ourselves without genuine effort to grow starts to look more like self-indulgence than self-compassion. Actions speak louder than words!

NOT WORKING FOR YOU? CHANGE IT UP!
Is Your Self-care Routine Becoming a Drag? The Functional Perfectionist discusses why trying to stick to a spiritual/mindful practice and self-care routine during extra busy times (and then exerting even more pressure by being hard on yourself when you can't keep it up) doesn't really work. What usually works much better is mindful self-care; in other words, checking in with yourself in relation to what you truly need the most in that moment or that day; rotating positive energy rituals; etc.
